Rouge River - That’s So Markham
Rouge River Brewing, a locally owned craft brewery in Markham, wanted to boost brand awareness and taproom visits within their community. Knowing that craft beer culture thrives on local pride and shared experiences, we developed a hyper-local campaign that celebrated all things uniquely Markham.
The campaign drove Markhamites to thatssomarkham.ca—a playful quiz site that challenged users to prove their Markham roots by answering niche trivia only true locals would know. A correct score unlocked a discount on Rouge River’s award-winning beers, rewarding community knowledge with craft beer.
To bring the concept to life, we created a three-minute hero video featuring real Markham residents hooked up to a polygraph machine as they answered questions about their hometown.The result: a cheeky, community-driven campaign that connected Rouge River Brewing with locals through humour, pride, and great beer.
